Pitt Basketball Offers David Tubek After Recent Reclassification

On Thursday, Pitt offered David Tubek, a class-of-2023 wing who visited Pitt unofficially this summer.

Tubek, who was originally in the class of 2022, recently reclassified and transferred to Dream City Christian.

Back in June, the 6-foot-8 wing was one of the first prospects that Jeff Capel brought onto campus for a visit. Shortly after the visit, he gave some high praise to the school, staff, and the program in an interview with PSN.

“It was a great time, I really liked the coaches, and I had a great time talking to them,” Tubek told Pittsburgh Sports Now in June. “They talked to me, telling me good stuff about the school, how to be a college student athlete, and more. It was just a great time. My favorite part was when I went there, I met people who were telling me great history that I don’t know. I got to meet professors and they talked to me and told me stories about Pittsburgh and just gave me a lot of knowledge about the city of Pittsburgh and I loved it.”

After reclassifying, Tubek’s recruitment blew up in just a few weeks. In the last two days alone, he has picked up offers from Pitt, Texas, Kansas, Xavier, and Creighton, and just two weeks ago he added offers from UNLV and Oakland.

A physically-imposing forward, Tubek now has two years of high school left to sharpen his skill set and prepare for the college level.

same comments, pitt among top 5, looks good for capel, then player signs with another progra. In 2022 offer orlando Antigua as much money as it takes to bring him back to Pitt and let Capel go.

Ha, ha, ha. . . yeah, sure. . . another offer, more smoke and mirrors, Capel trying to show he’s doing something. Think this kid will sign at Pitt? Yeah, sure.
