With the Panthers facing off against Clemson’s talented—albeit enigmatic—offense on Saturday, Pitt’s defense will be put to the task.

Cornerback Marquis Williams said before the season that he couldn’t wait to face Justyn Ross, the Tigers top receiver, and now both he and Panthers fans will get a chance to see if he’s up to the task.

Head coach Pat Narduzzi praised Clemson’s receivers for their talent in his weekly press conference on Monday.

“These guys are 6’3″ across the board at wide out,” Narduzzi said. “I mean, they are some of the most beautiful wide-outs that I’ve seen, and that’s a fact.”

To prepare the Panthers secondary for their toughest test yet, defensive backs coach Archie Collins had his players focus on tracking deep balls, hand-fighting with receivers and backpedaling during the media viewing window at practice on Tuesday, Oct. 19.
