One of the top talents in the Class of 2023 had his junior season cut short and will undergo surgery today.
Brashear 4-star linebacker Ta’Mere Robinson injured his knee a few weeks ago and announced today on Twitter that surgery to repair the injury would take place on Friday. Robinson tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that he suffered both a torn ACL and MCL.
This unfortunate injury has cut short the outstanding junior season that Robinson was having and has also put on hold his recruiting. Prior to this setback, Robinson had planned to attend the USC/Notre Dame game and he also told Adam Friedman from Rivals.com that he was going down to Clemson soon. Robinson will not be making an gameday visits until he’s recovered from the surgery.
Robinson is ranked by Rivals as one of the Top 50 juniors in the country with a long offer list from schools like Pitt, Penn State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Maryland, Rutgers, Syracuse, Texas, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
This injury won’t impact the interest of the teams that have been recruiting Robinson.
