Breakdown: John Hugley Delivers Career Performance in Pitt Loss

Published

on

In Tuesday night’s season-opening loss to The Citadel, there were not very many bright spots for Pitt on either side of the ball.

However, sophomore John Hugley did show some signs of positive play in the loss, scoring a career-high 27 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Here are some highlights of Hugley’s 27-point outburst, courtesy of ACC Digital Network.

27-9: Hugley gets good position on the block, take just one dribble to set himself up inside, then finishes over a weaker defender.

31-20: Hugley spins to his right, powerfully steps through the lane and converts on a smaller defender.

Hugley spins in the paint, floats it in.

Yes, this is exactly what Capel was looking for when he brought Hugley to Pitt!
