No. 3 Pitt volleyball avenged one of its two losses this season, and did so on the road, going to Atlanta and defeating No. 13 Georgia Tech, 3-1 on Friday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets took the first set, 25-17, but Pitt roared back, winning 25-22, 25-23, and 25-21 in the following three sets.
Leketo Member-Meneh led Pitt with 16 kills and Valerie Vazquez Gomez (14) and Chinaza Nee (10) followed in double figures. Leketo added 12 digs for a double-double, one behind team leader Ashley Browske. Alexis Akeo had 24 assists and Kylee Levers had 19. Sabrina Starks led Pitt with five blocks.
The 25-2 Panthers have lost just twice this season, once to Georgia Tech own Oct. 10 at home and also at Louisville on Oct. 24. They’ll get a chance to avenge that one, too, as the Pitt will wrap the regular season at home against the Cardinals on Nov. 24.
First, Pitt will finish the road portion of its scheduled on Sunday at Clemson. That match starts at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
