Pitt Well Represented with Conference Leading 12 All-ACC Selections

Published

on

Just as everyone expected, Pitt and Clemson lead the conference in All-ACC selection. Pitt’s 12 selections across all three teams edged out Clemson’s 10, and when honorable mentions are included, 21 Panthers have been honored.

Redshirt senior quarterback Kenny Pickett and sophomore wide receiver Jordan Addison headline the All-ACC first team offense while redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Calijah Kancey headlines the first team defense.

Pickett’s Heisman-worthy season has seen him reach new heights for ACC quarterbacks. With 4,066 yards and 40 touchdowns, he’s the only quarterback in conference history to hit those marks in just 12 games.

Addison is a strong candidate for the Biletnikoff Award, and his stat line of 85 receptions for 1,353 yards and 17 touchdowns is virtually unmatched in college football.

Kancey has helped Pitt’s front seven wreak havoc upon opposing offensive lines, ranking second in the nation in team sacks behind only Oklahoma State. Kancey has recorded 30 tackles (21 solo), 12 tackles for loss and seven sacks this season.

Redshirt senior tight end Lucas Krull and redshirt senior left tackle Carter Warren earned second team offensive honors, and redshirt junior defensive Habakkuk Baldanado, redshirt sophomore linebacker SirVocea Dennis and redshirt sophomore safety Brandon Hill earned second team defensive honors.

Addison was named to the third team offense as an all-purpose player, and redshirt senior linemen Gabe Huoy and Marcus Minor also earned third team offensive honors. Redshirt sophomore kicker Sam Scarton was honored with third team special teams.

Freshman tight end Gavin Bartholomew, redshirt junior guard Jake Kradel, redshirt senior center Owen Drexel, redshirt senior defensive end Deslin Alexandre, redshirt senior linebackers Phil Campbel III and John Petrishen, redshirt senior cornerback Damarri Mathis, redshirt junior safety Erick Hallett II and redshirt senior long snapper Cal Adomitis were named to the honorable mention list.
