Tampa RB Jordaan Bailey Signs with Pitt, despite Decommitting Earlier This Month

Tampa, Florida running back Jordaan Bailey became the third member of the Class of 2022 to sign with Pitt on Wednesday.

Bailey’s decision to sign with the Panthers came as something of a surprise, because he decommitted from the Panthers earlier in December.

A 6-foot-1, 185-pound, three-star back from Hillsborough High School, Bailey committed to Pitt after making an official visit back in June. But on Dec. 6, he announced that he was pulling back from that commitment.

“First and foremost I would like to thank the head man Coach Narduzzi and Coach Sanders and Coach Powell also Coach Graham for taking their time recruiting me and believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself and building such an amazing bond with me,” he wrote on Twitter. “After a long talk with my family, I decided to de-commit from Pittsburgh University.”

But that all changed Wednesday. Bailey has since deleted his tweet announcing his decommitment and he was the first running back to sign with Pitt, in what is for now expected to be a class of 11 players.

When he first committed to Pitt, Bailey also held offers from Cincinnati, Mississippi State, Syracuse, West Virginia, South Florida, Toledo, Western Kentucky, Liberty, Georgia Southern, East Carolina, Colorado State, Buffalo, Bowling Green, Austin Peay and Arkansas State.
