NEW YORK — On Saturday afternoon, Jamarius Burton made the shot of his life, draining a mid-range bucket to lead Pitt over St. John’s at Madison Square Garden.

Burton, who finished with 20 points in the win, took the ball coast-to-coast in eight seconds, and drained the game winner in the face of a defender.

At least Jeffries didn’t throw it to a Johnny. Coast to Coast, bad switch by St. John’s.
Capel did little coaching as Burton scored 8 of Pitt’s last 9 points and had the hot hand
and is the PG….so he had to get the mostly uncontested inbounds pass.

Until the coaching staff insists that Hughley lose 40 pounds so he can contribute to Pitt as he indicated in high school and as a freshman before being suspended. At 280 lbs. he is not the same player. At 240 lbs. he could be an impact player in the ACC, at 280lbs. he will continue to be the “biggest disappointment” in the conference. He has a high ceiling at anyone in ACC at his normal playing weight of 240, at 280 lbs. he is the slowest big man in the conference. Who’s fault is his weight problem?
