Did Pitt get exposed or was this game just an aberration after some improved play recently? That’s the question Mike Asti asks George Michalowski of Pittsburgh Sports Now after the Panthers fall to Syracuse 77-61.
Alex Sims, who serves as an anchor and reporter with WSYR-TV, also joined the show to discuss how this game changed so much in the second half and what unlocked Buddy Boeheim and the Cuse offense in this game compared to their recent losing streak.
whats to expose? That this team is terrible, and made up of kids that should be playing in the PSAC. There is one ACC caliber player on this team…..isn’t hard to expose that
No one thinks the team is good, but I think this game was just a bad matchup against the zone. Pitt has been playing much better and not getting blown out. That’s the reason for the question. I don’t think you see this bad of a game again, but who knows.
Bad matchup they have great outside shooters which pitt doesn’t. They play hard with what they have.other wise why is the orangemen been losing before now?
My thoughts too. Pitt has their issues but facing the zone with hot shooters was a recipe for disaster. It could’ve been worse. We will see what happens next matchup with Cuse.

Its always a bad matchup vs Syr because Capel’s offense against it is no plan to combat it. Teams who beat their zone have specific offensive sets to get open shots. Jamie Dixon’s teams were great at attacking that zone. No plan from Capel.
