On Monday, Pitt head coach Jeff Capel visited senior guard Adou Thiero and extended a scholarship offer to him.
Thiero had been hearing from Pitt for weeks, but did not hold an offer until now. In those last few weeks, he picked up offers from Duquesne, Kentucky, and Maryland.
A 6-foot-5 point guard, Thiero plays a very downhill game. He likes to drive and be as physical as possible out in transition, but can slow it down and use his basketball IQ to his advantage in the half court. Thiero recently led Quaker Valley to a WPIAL championship victory, and shortly after led them to the PIAA state title game.
Kentucky head coach John Calipari as well as assistant Orlando Antigua were both in attendance for that game watching Thiero, and offered him a scholarship on a home visit just days later.
Thiero told Pittsburgh Sports Now that he plans to commit to a school in late April or early May after taking some more college visits. Pitt hosted him for its game against Duke later in the season.
