Quaker Valley star guard Adou Thiero has been the talk of the town lately in Pittsburgh hoops.

First, it was because of his team winning the WPIAL 4A Championship and then making it to Hershey to play in the PIAA Finals. Then the spotlight turned to him individually as the 6-foot-5 guard received offers Kentucky and then on Sunday from Maryland.

Today, he is once again in the news as Pittsburgh Sports Now has learned that he’s receiving an in-home visit from Pitt head coach Jeff Capel.

The Pitt staff is very familiar with Thiero after attending his playoff games recently but to this point, haven’t formally extended an offer. Capel currently has six open scholarships for the upcoming season, and it’ll be interesting to see if he goes ahead and offers Thiero a scholarship today when he speaks to him and his family in-person.

Following a season in which he averaged 23.3 points and 10 rebounds per game, Thiero received a division an offer from Duquesne and is also receiving interest from programs such as Ohio State, Marquette, Cincinnati, West Virginia, UCSB, and Indiana.
