Following a breakout senior season, Quaker Valley star guard Adou Thiero has seen his recruiting skyrocket.
After leading Quaker Valley to a WPIAL 4A Championship and averaging 23 points and 10 rebounds per game, Division I programs recognized his play, and he now holds a handful of major offers from Kentucky, Pitt, Maryland and Cincinnati.
Duquesne basketball on Pittsburgh Sports Now is sponsored by The Summit Academy: setting young men on the path to a better future.
However, the first school to extend him an offer and one that quietly is hanging around in his recruitment is the Duquesne Dukes. Back on March 4, Keith Dambrot was the first coach to pull the trigger and formally extend him a D-I scholarship. Since then, the Dukes staff has attended multiple playoff games for Thiero, including Dambrot making the trip Hershey for Quaker Valley’s championship game against Neumann-Goretti.
Thiero obviously has some interest in the Dukes program because today he’s making a trip to The Bluff.
Pittsburgh Sports Now has learned that Thiero will be at Duquesne today making an official visit. This will be Thiero’s first official visit to any college.
Duquesne has lost multiple guards to the NCAA Transfer Portal and Thiero would fill a hole on their roster.
