On Monday, Pittsburgh Sports Now learned that Duquesne standout freshman Amir “Primo” Spears will be entering the transfer portal after playing one season for Duquesne.
Spears, a 6-foot-3 guard, played in 30 games this season for Duquesne, averaging 12.7 points per game, 2.5 rebounds, and three assists. He shot 37% from the field and 30% from three-point range on the year. To cap off the year, Spears scored 30+ points in the last two games of Duquesne’s season, becoming the first freshman in school history to do so.
Duquesne basketball on Pittsburgh Sports Now is sponsored by The Summit Academy: setting young men on the path to a better future.
After losing Spears and fellow guard Jackie Johnson to the portal, Duquesne will be adding another guard within the next week, and is looking to add two additional veteran guards to the roster.
Pitt + Duquesne + RMU = 10 wins next year.
Is that combined
if they are lucky
Pitt will win over 10 themselves.
Quit recruiting high school kids it’s not worth it anymore, most of them jump ship 1 or 2vyrs into the program so what’s the point
Maybe it’s not the kids every year there transfers in the program
Coaching staff and teammates won’t miss this selfish player
