While his game wasn’t always consistent at Pitt, Femi Odukale showed that he can produce for a high major basketball program.
Since deciding to transfer from Pitt, it should come as no surprise that Odukale is receiving a great deal of interest in the NCAA transfer portal.
After spending the last couple of weeks hearing from a variety of programs, the New York native is getting closer to settling on a new basketball home. CBS Sports’ basketball insider Jon Rothstein is reporting that Odukale is now considering five programs: Rhode Island, Seton Hall, Maryland, UConn and Oregon.
After playing in 53 games the last two seasons with Pitt, Odukale made the decision to take his talents to another division one program. Over those last two seasons, Odukale averaged 8.2 points, 3 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
The native of Brooklyn, New York showed flashes of being a consistent, productive player but also showed too much inconsistency that a winning team can’t afford to get from the point guard position. His top two games this past season were against Jacksonville (28 points, 5 3-pointers) and Virginia Tech (25 points, 5 3-pointers).
Considering his ties to the New York and New England area, where he played at in high school, Rhode Island, Seton Hall and UConn make a lot of sense.
Who cares. Focus on what’s happening with the current team.
Rhode Island will be his choice. He knows he can’t really compete in either thee B1G or BigEast or even the PAC 12.
