Lincoln Park Senior Guard LA Pratt Commits to Elon

On Wednesday, former WPIAL star guard LA Pratt committed to Elon after a stellar career at Lincoln Park.

Pratt is a 6-foot-4 guard who just wrapped up his senior season for Lincoln Park. He recently parted ways with Duquesne, after being committed to the Dukes since November 2021. Since re-opening his recruitment, Pratt heard from Holy Cross, Elon, Princeton, Colgate, Ball State, Miami (Ohio), and more, but ultimately decided to commit to the Phoenix.

β€œI think my best attribute is getting the ball to others and creating for others,” he told Pittsburgh Sports Now in an interview in 2021. β€œI like to get other people the ball. I also feel like I can handle the ball really well. Scoring is something that I do, but that is not what I pride my game after. Being a playmaker for my teammates I feel like that’s the biggest thing for me. My whole life I have kind of been pass-first. Recently, these last couple years, I turned into a scorer. Just creating for others and being able to get everybody involved and find my teammates, that’s what I love to do. And defensively. I love to guard the ball.”

Pratt now joins first-year head coach Billy Taylor’s team just one month after fellow WPIAL guard Devin Carney de-committed from Elon. Elon plays in the Colonial Athletic Association, and is coming off a 10-22 season.
