Lincoln Park Senior Guard LA Pratt Commits to Elon

On Wednesday, former WPIAL star guard LA Pratt committed to Elon after a stellar career at Lincoln Park.

Pratt is a 6-foot-4 guard who just wrapped up his senior season for Lincoln Park. He recently parted ways with Duquesne, after being committed to the Dukes since November 2021. Since re-opening his recruitment, Pratt heard from Holy Cross, Elon, Princeton, Colgate, Ball State, Miami (Ohio), and more, but ultimately decided to commit to the Phoenix.

“I think my best attribute is getting the ball to others and creating for others,” he told Pittsburgh Sports Now in an interview in 2021. “I like to get other people the ball. I also feel like I can handle the ball really well. Scoring is something that I do, but that is not what I pride my game after. Being a playmaker for my teammates I feel like that’s the biggest thing for me. My whole life I have kind of been pass-first. Recently, these last couple years, I turned into a scorer. Just creating for others and being able to get everybody involved and find my teammates, that’s what I love to do. And defensively. I love to guard the ball.”

Pratt now joins first-year head coach Billy Taylor’s team just one month after fellow WPIAL guard Devin Carney de-committed from Elon. Elon plays in the Colonial Athletic Association, and is coming off a 10-22 season.
