Class-of-2024 Guard Kobe George Talks Skill Set, Potential Visit to Pitt

After hearing from the Pitt staff for the first time in mid-June, class-of-2024 prospect Kobe George was recently added to Pittsburgh Sports Now’s Pitt basketball recruiting board.

George is a strong, athletic guard who played last season at The Burlington School in North Carolina. However, after his coach left for a new position at Prolific Prep, he does not yet know where he will play high-school ball next year. George plays on the AAU circuit for CP3, and due to his stellar play, all year, his recruitment has taken off as of late.

Within the first few weeks of being in direct contact with coaching staffs, George has heard from Pitt, Virginia Tech, Appalachian State, Georgia State, Winthrop, Western Carolina, SMU, Wake Forest, South Carolina, and more.

“I’m a point guard,” he told PSN. “I am super athletic, so that helps. I’m a bigger point guard, I’m 6’4 on a good day, 6’3. I use my strength a lot to help me. I am still working on developing my perimeter jump shot to where it’s consistent, but I like getting to the elbow and pulling up. I feel like my best strength is playing in transition, getting out and finding open teammates in transition. My overall strengths are my athleticism and my IQ.”

Although he does not know much about Pitt yet, from the moment he heard from the Pitt staff for the first time, he knew that he wanted to take a trip out to see the campus. George told PSN that he has not scheduled any specific visit dates yet, but is looking to take trips to see Pitt, Rice, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, UNCG, and UNC-Charlotte if possible, this summer.
