Recently, the Duquesne basketball staff extended an offer to class-of-2023 wing Alex Bates IV, who plays for United Faith Christian Academy (NC) and VA Premier.
Bates is a 6-foot-5 wing who holds offers from Duquesne, Fairleigh Dickinson, Radford, and others. The sharpshooter has a smooth right-handed stroke from outside and is not afraid to take the ball inside either.
“When you talk about his game though, is such a sneaky prospect at his size,” said Phenom Hoops Report in a scouting report of Bates. “He surprises you with his athleticism and ability to rise up to finish at the rim, but he also does a great job in finding ways to score with his jumper. He is a skilled prospect with or without the ball and can either step up and be a presence offensively but also be an effective secondary option on the floor.”
Bates, Cam Estevez and Anthony Robinson are the three most recent prospects to pick up Duquesne offers.
The Dukes’ staff has also shown interest in ’23 wings Mouhamed Dioubate, Khali Horton, Keenan Bey, and Kenneth Lewis, among others.
