Explosive New York Prospect Dwayne Pierce Picks up Offer from Jeff Capel, Pitt

On Thursday, Pitt extended an offer to another prospect in the 2024 class, this time by the name of Dwayne Pierce.

Pierce is a 6-foot-6, 205-pound shooting guard out of Christ the King, a well-known basketball powerhouse in Queens, New York. He also competes for NY Rens on the Nike EYBL circuit, where he has been showing out all spring and summer alongside his talented team.

“I’m a versatile three-level scorer and a good interior and perimeter defender,” Pierce told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “My number one asset is seeing the floor.”

Pierce models his game after NBA stars Bradley Beal and Jayson Tatum, saying that he loves how aggressive they play. Pierce’s aggressive play style has led to a high-major recruitment early in his college career, and he is now entering his junior year of high school with offers from Memphis, Illinois, St. John’s, Pitt, LSU, Creighton, and many more. For Pitt, he said, head coach Jeff Capel was the one to extend the offer.

With the recent offer to Pierce, Pitt has now offered 11 players in the 2024 class. To view the entire class-of-2024 recruiting board for the Panthers, click the link below.
