When new offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti Jr. was at Boston College over the last two seasons, he worked with Phil Jurkovec and Hunter Long, the resident quarterback-tight end duo, and with one of Kedon Slovis or Nick Patti and Gavin Bartholomew, he has a very, very solid foundation.
It doesn’t take too much searching to find how Cignetti has used tight ends in past offenses, and those who remember Cignetti’s past Pitt offensive coordinator stint will be even more familiar.
