Pitt’s 2023 Hoops Recruiting Class Rises up National Rankings

Pitt commits Carlton Carrington and Marlon Barnes with Jaland Lowe.

After Saturday’s commitment from four-star guard Jaland Lowe out of Texas, Pitt’s 2023 recruiting class is now ranked as the No. 15 class in the nation, per 247 Sports’ class calculator.

Lowe, a four-star ranked as the No. 75 player in the nation, joins Carlton Carrington (No. 101) and Marlon Barnes (No. 189) in the Panthers’ well-assembled class.

Looking back, I did not realize how great an impact that civic had on Pitt recruiting. Not getting players on campus had a major negative impact on Pitt recruiting. Many players have stated how surprised they were by what they saw on their visits. So a major object of the recruiting is to get players to visit the campus. Coach Capel is very impressive as a coach and person and many players would want to play for him. The facilities are competitive with many programs and that impresses many athletes. yes that`s what recuiting is about getting visits to campus. YES they have facilities that can match other colleges. When you get the recurian parents to campus to view things an spend up close with players an coaches.,visit the campus an the surroundings an the how the students responds at games.
