When are our reporters going to ask Mr Excuse Narduzzi any real questions about this season? I’ll give you one: do you think this team has failed to meet expectations? Why have they underperformed so badly with all of this talent?

To your point, there’s too much talent on this team to be 4-4, probably finish 7-5. Going into the year Pitt had national attention and respect again. Well, that’s all over now. They could have had options but oh that’s right they extended Narduzzi until 2030.

Is it just me or does Slovass have serious tunnel vision for a power 5 QB? He has over 25 starts and can still only locate one receiver. He might be great in practice, but games are very different. It’s all about vision in a game. This isn’t HS football. H2P

I agree, he can’t go through progressions

We lost two offensive starters from last year, brought in coveted transfers. Then Cignetti destroyed our team. He ran off Addison, he can’t coach QB’s. He destroyed our team. I am a true fan and will trust that Narduzzi will fix this.

Who were the coveted transfers?

Coveted transfers wee Mumpfield, Slovis, Means. Numerous power 5 programs were after these guys.
It has not worked out this year. It could be different next year if we get an OC.

Cancey not in the middle was noticeable, disappearing offense late, their QB played well. I thought he summed it up.
Hopefully they Win 3 of next 4, these Seniors have played hard for PITT. Like to see them play in another Bowl.

Cignetti was brought in after his 1978 offense at BC finished dead last in the ACC. Why? Have some balls and grab a bright, young offensive mind. Take the top MAC or FCS OC, and stop coaching not to lose. This stupid offense will cost transfers and recruits

8 games in and we have not seen a trick play, reverse, flea flicker.
We are the second lowest in points against UNC. Interesting that Our only scores came on drives with big pass plays.
Cignetti is a pice of dung.

Got to run the regular plays effectively in order to make the trick plays work.

Fan bases in Miami, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Michigan State, Florida State, Florida Notre Dame all questioning everything as well. … Clemson fans have Undefeated Team are whining about QB play and who should be QB1. … NEWs flash we could have lost to UTK, UVA, UNC last year as well (close ones), and arguably Clemson if the aforementioned QB could throw accurate. … HC wanted ball control Offense, Cignetti likes Play Action. They are not real dynamic in straight up Pass plays, kind of like Steelers offense. Oddly though they came out throwing nice deep balls other than just Play… Read more »

Agree, we only scores on drive against UNC by chunks of yards throwing. Unfortunately our OC is very weak in passing systems and qb coaching.
Mumpfield caught 60 passes and wan an all American last year. Then came Cignetti offense.
Players deserve a better coach than Cignetti.

I’m guessing the conference went something like this:

“did you know that if you took away all the points that opposing teams scored against Pitt this season, we would be undefeated?”

“Also, we don’t get enough respect in the national rankings”

Maybe he is the kind of guy who plays gaming consoles and hits Reset if the outcome is not favorable

Frank Cignetti, according to players who played for him at BC is the kind of guy who blames players and other coaches when things go wrong.

Any good team with a good passing offense will always have a chance against Pitt. The defense must change. Pitt does not have shut down corners, if the D-line doesn’t get to the QB the corners are going to lose more than they win. This defense is old and played out, but someone is to stubborn to change. Why are Coaches in Pittsburgh so reluctant to do something different.

It’s tough to lose a football game to a basketball school.
