The Pitt Panthers recruiting of tall, playmaking wide receivers continues.

In the last couple of days, the coaching staff has extended offers to 2023 3-star wideout Chance Fitzgerald (6’3″, 190-pounds) along with 2023-star Ardell Banks (6’4″, 185-pounds) from Massillon, Ohio.

Another receiver that has similar length to Fitzgerald and Banks plans on making an upcoming trip to Pittsburgh.

2024 3-star wideout TJ Moore from Tampa Catholic in Tampa, Florida tells PSN that he’ll be making an unofficial visit for the Duke game next Saturday.

Moore (6’4″ 190-pounds) is being recruited to Pitt by Tiquan Underwood and the two sides have formed a solid relationship.

“Pittsburgh is kind of familiar to me because I lived in Pennsylvania for a couple of years. So, I have some type of connection up there and I knew when I got the offer that’d be an immediate option for me. My parents have a couple friends in Pittsburgh too, so that’s convenient for them. My relationship with Coach Underwood is really good. He checks up on me every day. Just that fact alone puts Pitt in my top options.”

Attempting to land Moore won’t be easy as he already holds close to 30 offers, including ones from Miami (FL), Auburn, Florida State, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Penn State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Central Florida and West Virginia.

Another school that’s been in contact recently but hasn’t offered is Clemson but this weekend, Moore plans on making an unofficial visit to see Dabo Swinney’s program.

This season for this Tampa Catholic team, Moore has 32 receptions for 725 yards and 8 receiving touchdowns, along with 3 carries for 155 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns.

For a Team that stands to lose around 25 to 30 Players and only having 17 Committed does that suggest Hitting the Transfer Portal hard in late December early January?

i.e. somewhat re-inventing the old Kansas State Bill Snyder recruiting model (overlooked, lacking measurables, Community-College oriented) into 2-Deep [lack of field-time] at P5 Schools ranked above you and grabbing stellar underclassmen from G5 schools from the Portal?
Seems like to much reliance on 247Sports (Scout.com), Rivals, On3 and when other Schools make Offers than grass-roots recruiting plus Camp outcomes.

If anybody on here knows how to turn Pitt on to a prospect, tell them about Marshaun Brown. 6-4, 185-pound WR from Reno, NV – watched him play all year. Only D1 offer, which he accepted, was from Nevada. Track star, too.
