PITTSURGH–With the closing of 2022 let’s take a look at my favorite photos. It is a hard task to trim over 40 games down to just a few top frames, but here we go with some of the best of the best of the best (with honors’).

10. Brandon Hill celebrates a pick 6 on November 19 by dunking the football

Pittsburgh Panthers defensive back Brandon Hill (9) November 19, 2022 David Hague/PSN

9. Pitt Football celebrates a victory on October 8. With it being a prime-time game, I had figured there would be fireworks to celebrate the win, so I had to get low as all the players are shaking hands

Pittsburgh Panthers defensive back Dante Caputo (45) October 8, 2022 David Hague/PSN

8. This photo is more of a historic photo as it is Pitt women lacrosse’s first goal in their program’s history

7. Pitt baseball had a pair of games at PNC Park and the light and shadows on Jonathan Bautista was the reason this photo is in my top 10

Pittsburgh pitcher Jonathan Bautista (29) May 17, 2022 David Hague/PSN

6. As part of the Sports Now coverage I traveled to Penn State to cover PSU Wrestling on their senior day. Max Dean just with a painful looking pin

5. I try to be different and change things up and covering a game from above is amazing as you get a bird’s eye view of John Hugley going in for the basket

Pittsburgh Panthers forward John Hugley IV (4) November 20, 2022 David Hague/PSN

4. Celebration photos are always one of my favorite photos and this might be one of my favorite reactions of all time as the Pitt bench reacts to Nike Sibande big play

Pittsburgh Panthers guard Greg Elliott (3) November 20, 2022 David Hague/PSN

3. Got to cover my first NCAA March Madness and this photo of the Houston defender Take Moore trying to block the Trey Jemison of UAB

2. Pitt Volleyball is becoming one of the best programs at Pitt and this photo of Cat Flood showing off her hops and the rest of the team celebrating a win over Georgia Tech

1. Should be no surprise on my number 1 photo being Pitt football’s tight end Gavin Bartholomew leaping over the defender on his way to a touchdown.

So those are my top photos for the year, do you agree or disagree? Here is to 2023 and all the amazing photos I hope to take next year.
