On the opening day of spring practice, Pitt’s lost a player from last year’s roster.
A year after joining Pitt as a walk-on, running back Anthony Summey has made the decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
“After much prayer and conversations with my family, I have decided that it is in my best interest to enter the transfer portal. I want to thank Coach Narduzzi, Coach Powell and the rest of the Pitt staff for allowing me to attend and play for the University of Pittsburgh. I have 3 years of eligibility and I am looking for a home.”
The native of Ocean Township, New Jersey arrived at Pitt last May after transferring in from Georgia.
Summey originally committed to walking on at Georgia as a two-star recruit out of the Class of 2019, arriving as the 3,225th-ranked recruit in the class (223rd-ranked running back and 71st-ranked recruit out of New Jersey).
Summey redshirted at Georgia in 2019, didn’t play in 2020 and had 5 carries (against UAB and Charleston Southern) in 2021. Summey didn’t get on the field last season for Pitt.
