Ricky Johnson made an unofficial visit to Pittsburgh just last weekend, and now he’s scheduled to go back just over a month later.
Johnson — a 6-foot-1, 180-pound three-star wide receiver from Houston County High in Warner Robins, Georgia — has set an official visit to Pitt for June 22-24.

With offers from the likes of Auburn, FAU, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Iowa State, Memphis, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Penn State, Pitt, Stanford, UCF, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Johnson has received heavy interest across the board.
Pitt jumped into the fold for Johnson just over a month ago, with Archie Collins extending an official offer on April 20. And as he’s continued to communicate with Pitt’s coaching staff, he’s been able to build a relationship with Tiquan Underwood.
He spent two days in Pittsburgh last Friday and Saturday, and he was able to tour the facilities, connect with Collins and Underwood and hit up a photo shoot opportunity.
“Pitt is one of my top schools, and I had to come see it with my mom,” Johnson told PSN. “We set something up where I could come visit as soon as possible, and I did.”
With excellent size and speed and strength, Johnson was able to use his body control to make contested catches and his speed to beat cornerbacks downfield and secure walk-in touchdowns.
As part of a high-octane Houston County offense as a junior, Johnson hauled in 53 receptions for 840 yards (15.8 yards per reception) and 11 touchdowns.
247Sports rates Johnson as the 116th-ranked wide receiver and the 91st-ranked recruit from Georgia. Neither Rivals nor On3 have rated Johnson, but he does hold a 5.5 Rivals Rating.
With an offer sheet that features recent offers from ACC, Big Ten, SEC and Pac 12 schools, it’s surprising that Johnson isn’t more highly rated, but as he’s on the trail this summer, that should only improve.
As of Thursday night, he has official visits scheduled for Stanford (June 8-10), Minnesota (June 16-18) and Pitt (June 22-24).
Pitt has a commitment from four-star wide receiver DayDay Farmer in the class of 2024 at this point, and three-star Triston Ward and four-star Keylen Adams are currently scheduled to visit this summer.
