As the start of official visits, the month of June has historically resulted in a number of verbal commitments for the Pitt football program.
Don’t look for this year’s to be as active in terms of verbal commitments as in the past, but June still should be a busy and active month in terms of recruiting news.

The only reason I don’t anticipate a ton of commitments is one simple reason, Pat Narduzzi has already gotten 11 verbal commitments. In years past, that number was nowhere close to that number. In fact, Pitt didn’t receive their first commitment last year until June 3.
With more than half their recruiting class likely full and some positions already addressed, the Pitt staff will start becoming a bit more selective in who they take commitments from. Another big factor and something to consider, Pitt finds themselves as finalists for a number of highly rated 4-star recruits so they’ll no doubt continue to recruit those players hard and see how things turn out before possibly taking a commitment from another player at the same position.
As we approach the start of official weekend (June 2-4), here is a look back at the recent success Pitt has had in June.

It’s great that Pitt is in the position to be extra picky about who gets the remaining scholarships. Landing a good number of early recruits is the enabler and is thus a smart strategy going forward. Now land the best of those 4-Stars!
