Pitt’s Capel Brothers Out Watching Local 2025 Prospect

On Saturday, Pitt’s Capel brothers were out watching one of the top local recruits in the class of 2025.

The Capel brothers were courtside watching Dame Givner, a 6-foot-1 guard out of Imani Christian, Givner’s coach told Pittsburgh Sports Now.

Givner recently received his first Division One offer this past week, as the Fordham staff extended an offer on July 10. Imani Christian, a WPIAL 1A school in Pittsburgh, now has four players in their rising junior class holding Division One offers: Alier Maluk, Givner, RJ Sledge, and Nate Brazil.

The PIAA 1A State Champion scored 15.8 points per game as a sophomore last season, according to MaxPreps.

He earned plaudits for his performance last weekend with his AAU team, West Virginia Gold Hoops, at the Pro16 League Finals in Houston, Texas.

Givner is an athletic guard, who uses his speed to blow by opponents to drive to the hoop. He also possesses a good mid-range shot and is not afraid to let it fly from the perimeter. He is best with the ball in his hands, where he can drive to the rim and attack the basket.

Pitt has reached out to over 25 prospects in the 2025 class since June 15 — the date on which college coaches were first allowed to directly communicate with rising juniors. That list includes local star Meleek Thomas (Lincoln Park) and plenty of others around the country.
