Months after initially committing to Robert Morris, Evansville transfer Preston Phillips has now committed to Bethel University.

A source within the RMU program confirmed to PSN that Phillips will not be joining the Robert Morris program this year.

A 6-foot-8 forward, Phillips averaged more than three points per game this past season as a sophomore for Evansville. The Elkhart, Indiana native started nine games for the Purple Aces and played an average of 19.5 minutes per contest. He initially committed to RMU on May 26.

This offseason, RMU’s staff brought in highly-touted transfer Justice Williams (LSU), as well as Markeese Hastings (Western Michigan) to lead the program into the 2023-24 season. Last year, the Colonials finished 16-17 (10-10 Horizon) in year 13 of the Andy Toole era.
