Zoo Crew is preparing to return to The Basketball Tournament this week.
The team, full of Pitt alumni, is competing in the 64-team tournament for a prize of $1 million.
All of the players on Zoo Crew from last year’s Pitt team — Nelly Cummings, Nike Sibande, and Greg Elliott — will still be competing in TBT this upcoming week, as initially reported. As will Gilbert Brown, Gary McGhee, Ryan Luther, Jamel Artis, LeVance Fields, Talib Zanna, Josh Newkirk, and Sam Young, the other former Panthers on the roster. However, Mo Gueye (played at Pitt in 2021-22) will not play for Zoo Crew, he told Pittsburgh Sports Now (signing with NBA organization soon).
Despite being left off the roster in a recent tweet by TBT, Gilbert Brown will play for Zoo Crew, a source confirmed.

Zoo Crew opens TBT play on Tuesday night at 9 p.m. in Wheeling, West Virginia against Herd That, a team full of Marshall alumni.
