ACC Network Broadcast Crew Revealed for Pitt vs. Virginia Tech

It’s going to be another late night (early morning?) for Pitt football this weekend in Blacksburg, Va.

The ACC Network will once again be on the call for Pitt’s game this weekend, matching up with Virginia Tech, and Mike Monaco will handle play-by-play duties, Tim Hasselbeck will serve as his analyst and Taylor Tannebaum will report from the sideline.

Bill Hillgrove will not be on the call for Pitt-VT for 93.7 The Fan, for the second straight game, but Jeff Hathhorn will once again fill in as the play-by-play man. And Pat Bostick will still serve as his analyst while Larry Richert and Dorin Dickerson will report from the field.

It will be an important game for Pitt, a must-win if the Panthers want to snap a four-game losing streak and avoid a 0-2 start in conference play. And, if we’re being honest, it’s one of the few games in the conference that Pitt will be favored to win the rest of the way.

Virginia Tech has gotten off to a slow start this season in the second year of head coach Brent Pry, with losses to Purdue (24-17), Rutgers (35-16) and Marshall (24-17), and the Hokies have used two quarterbacks already this season.

Pitt is 11-11 all-time against Virginia Tech, dating back to an inaugural meeting in 1993. VT won the first four matchups and seven of the first eight matchups. The two sides have met every season for the last 11 years, with Pitt winning seven of the 11 matchups — and each of the last three, winning 47-14 in 2020, 28-7 in 2021 and 45-29 last season.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday night at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, and it promises to be a night of football that will determine if Pitt can rise from its current situation.
