Pitt is yet to win a road game this season, but there’s a chance to change that Saturday night against Wake Forest. And it’s also a chance to start a winning streak — after upsetting No. 14 Louisville last week.

“We close the chapter on it and move on to a really good Wake Forest team,” Pat Narduzzi said Monday at his weekly news conference. “There was a lot of stuff on tape offensively, defensively, special teams-wise that we could still do a lot better. It’s not like we’re a finished product yet. We’re still learning, still getting better.

“Obviously a good football team. 3-3 football team. Got to play on the road, which we’ve not won a road game yet, so that’ll be the first challenge is going on the road and executing against a younger team, wherever that may be, against a talented football team.”

The uniform combo features a white helmet with the “Cathedral Stripe” and blue script and an H2P on the faceplate, white jerseys with blue script and white pants with a blue stripe. It’s a new variation of the traditional road uniforms.

Pitt opened as a slim road underdog at the beginning of the week, and while the line has shrunk marginally, Pitt is still an underdog against Wake Forest.

Pitt and Wake Forest will kick off at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, being played at Wake Forest’s Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C. And it will be just the second time that Pitt has ever played in Winston-Salem.

It will be another important game for Pitt, but unlike the last handful of games, it will come in the hopes of continuing a winning streak after knocking off No. 14 Louisville over the weekend.

The Demon Deacons are 3-3 this season, without a win in the ACC thus far (losses to Georgia Tech, Clemson and Virginia Tech), boasting a mid-tier offense and defense through the first half of the season, with wins over Elon, Vanderbilt and Old Dominion. The Deacons had an early bye week sandwiched around conference losses to Georgia Tech and Clemson.

Pitt has played Wake Forest twice in its history, and the last matchup came in the 2021 ACC championship game in Charlotte, N.C. — a 45-21 win capped by Erick Hallett winning MVP honors.

The two sides first met back in 2018, with Kenny Pickett throwing for 316 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-13 win at BB&T Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C.
