It’s been a surprisingly quiet day for Pitt football in terms of news but changed a bit tonight.
The Panthers coaching staff have extended an offer to Western Kentucky transfer defensive back Upton Stouts. The native of Houston, Texas entered into the NCAA transfer portal three days ago.

Stout was a star defensive back for Western Kentucky for the last two seasons after transferring there from North Texas.
This past season, Stout collected 29 tackles, 8 pass breakups, one interception (which went for a TD) and a fumble recovery (which went for a TD). Stout also missed five games this past season with an injury.
Last season, Stout started 11 games for Western Kentucky and registered 44 tackles and a team leading 4 interceptions.
Pat Narduzzi and Pitt were the first school to offer Stout, who has also received offers from Washington State, Memphis, Houston, Cincinnati and Ole Miss.
Regardless of if star cornerback MJ Devonshire returns or not, Pitt is still in need of an established cornerback and Stout would be an ideal addition. Both Marquise Williams and A.J. Woods are both graduating.
