Sunday’s Best ESPN BET Bets: Jaguars-Titans, FCS National Championship, Bills-Dolphins

Another day. Another positive day for the Winning Picks, going 2-1. Pitt helped our day get off to a good start with a cover and win over the Louisville Cardinals. The Panthers really needed a strong performance and they delivered. Speaking of another team who needed a strong performance, the Pittsburgh Steelers, now wait for their fate to be decided after winning and covering at Baltimore. The Penguins/Sabres played a low scoring game; the over never had a chance to cover. We move to 86-66-3.

Today is the last day of the regular season for the NFL. Seems like it was just yesterday when the Lions/Chiefs played in the opening game. That’s before Taylor Swift used her mind tricks on Travis Kelce, causing the future Hall of Fame tight end to have the worst season he has had since 2015. This is all her fault.

Circling back to today, we have a lot of backup quarterbacks getting their opportunity in the year of the backup QB. Today is a hard day to navigate, so make sure you know who is in and who is out on any game you bet today. It can be the difference between winning money and losing money.

As far as leans go today, there are a few favorites I like along with a couple underdogs. For favorites, my leans are the Lions, Buccaneers, 49ers and Patriots. Out of these three, the one I like the most are the Patriots. Being this could be Belichick’s last game as New England’s head coach, you know he will be trying to go out with a convincing win versus the Jets.

With underdogs, my leans are the Falcons, Bears, Giants and Commanders. These teams all have to play spoiler today with playoff and division titles on the line, some of these underdogs might win outright as well. Like the underdog bet that is going to leadoff the Winning Picks today.

Now let’s get to the Winning Picks!

Jacksonville Jaguars (-4) at Tennessee Titans O/U 42.5 1:00 PM on CBS

The Steelers held up their end of the bargain last night by winning and keeping their playoff hopes alive. Now the Steelers will have to rely on an old AFC Central rival to beat a different AFC Central rival this afternoon.

At the time of writing this, we still do not know if Trevor Lawrence will start or not for the Jags. If Lawrence can’t go, CJ Beathard will start again for Jacksonville. And we know Ryan Tannehill will start for the Titans, which could be his last game for Tennessee along with another key piece of the franchise.

This could be the last time Derrick Henry suits up in a Titans uniform. I believe Tennessee will feed Henry as much as possible, so I would target his over rushing yards and scoring a touchdown. As for this game overall, whether Lawrence plays or not, the Titans should make this game competitive. Mike Vrabel is also on the hotseat, and a win over a rival to close the year could help his case to stay. The Winning Pick here is Titans spread, but I can see this team winning outright too. That happens, the Steelers are in the playoffs.

Montana Grizzlies vs South Dakota St Jackrabbits (-14) O/U 49.5 FCS National Championship 2:00 PM on ABC

I find it very strange that this game is being played on a Sunday afternoon, in the middle of the last Sunday of NFL football. Weird. Anyways, this should be a great matchup as South Dakota St goes for back-to-back titles while Montana goes for their first national championship since 2001.

It always seems that we at least have some team from the Dakotas in the FCS National Championship, whether that be this South Dakota St team or the dynasty that was North Dakota St. The Dakotas rule the FCS, but Montana wants to change that. Honestly, in my opinion, the Grizzlies don’t really have a shot.

Look for the Jackrabbits to control this game from start to finish and beat Montana by 3 touchdowns, covering the spread and winning another FCS National Championship in the process.

Buffalo Bills (-3) at Miami Dolphins O/U 48 8:20 PM on NBC

If the Jaguars end up winning this afternoon, Steeler fans will have a long night ahead of them watching this game between the Bills and Dolphins. A Buffalo loss gets the Steelers in the playoffs, and the Bills would miss in the process. If the Bills win, they will be the #2 seed in the AFC playoffs. This has to be one of the oddest scenarios in the history of the NFL playoffs.

Miami, however, has already clinched a playoff spot. They are playing for the division title, but if this game gets out of hand, will the Dolphins pull the plug and rest their starters? They already have lost multiple stalwarts on both sides of the ball like Bradley Chubb who was lost for the season last week.

For this game, I expect Josh Allen to find the end zone on the ground and through the air. Look for Gabe Davis to haul in one of those touchdowns. That being said, I do like the under 48 points in this game. This will be a tight game until the very end, I think Buffalo edges out the Dolphins in the end.
