Monday’s Best ESPN BET Bets: Kraken-Penguins, Steelers-Bills, Eagles-Buccaneers

Another 2-1 outing for the Winning Picks on Sunday. The Packers/Cowboys over easily covered after an embarrassing performance from Dallas. Will we see Bill Belichick end up in Dallas now? Time will tell. In the night cap, the Rams were able to get us a sneaky cover in a game that should’ve probably won, multiple red zone field goals can come back to bite you in the end. The Clippers failed to win and cover in Minnesota. We move to 99-77-3 on the year, 1 win away from 100 wins for the Winning Picks!

Now that the dust has settled mostly from Super Wildcard Weekend with 2 games left to be played, we do have a matchup already set. The resting 49ers will host the upset minded Green Bay Packers on Saturday night. As it stands, San Francisco is a -10 favorite and the Over/Under is set at 50.5.

Immediately you would think to jump on the Packers given what they and Jordan Love did to the Cowboys on the road. But, buyer beware, the 49ers have owned Green Bay in recent playoff matchups. San Francisco is 4-0 against the Packers dating back to 2013, which started with the Colin Kaepernick coming out party. I can still see him running free against their defense.

To top that off, Kyle Shanahan is 3-0 against his former coaching partner in Washington Matt Lafleur. Granted, all of those games were with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback. Will Love be a different story? Will Brock Purdy and the 49ers be rusty with the bye week? We shall see.

Now time for the Winning Picks!

Seattle Kraken at Pittsburgh Penguins (-145) O/U 6 1:00 PM on SportsNet Pittsburgh

With the Steeler game being moved, the Penguins will move up their start time today by 5 hours to accommodate the fans who want to watch both games. This could help the Pens more than you think as they face a red-hot Seattle team.

The Kraken are riding a 9-game winning streak and a 13-game point streak into this game in Pittsburgh. They have also been one of the better defenses in the NHL over the last month, negating high powered offenses around the NHL. This game also sees the return of former Penguin Brian Doumalin to Pittsburgh. Doumalin captured 2 Stanley Cups as a member of the Pens.

With the early start, the Winning Pick for this game is the under. Especially with the way the Kraken have been playing, this will be a grind it out game Monday afternoon.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Buffalo Bills (-10) O/U 38.5 4:30 PM on CBS

If this game would’ve been played yesterday, which wasn’t possible, the Steelers would probably play a very tight, low scoring game with the Bills. Now with the wind not much of a factor, I believe we are going to get more points than you think this afternoon.

The Steelers will be without TJ Watt for this game, but the Bills will also be without Gabe Davis, who has torched Pittsburgh in recent matchups. It will be an interesting matchup between Stefon Diggs and Joey Porter Jr. Diggs has had an up and down season as has Porter at times in his rookie year. Still, I think Diggs will find the end zone today.

Without Davis and possibly Diggs covered up, the Bills should rely on their ground game with both James Cook and Josh Allen. You may even see some Leonard Fournette, some Steeler fans still have nightmares of what he did to them with Jacksonville. All three could find the end zone. As for Pittsburgh, Najee Harris will find the end zone as will Pat Freiermuth. Better late than never for Muth.

With all these potential touchdowns, you can expect some points in Buffalo today. The Steelers will have to keep pace with the Bills if they don’t want this to become a laugher.

Philadelphia Eagles (-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers O/U 43.5 8:15 PM on ABC

I have not seen a team head into the playoffs with the lack of momentum as the Philadelphia Eagles. Fans in Philly are already calling for Nick Sirianni’s head after leading them to the Super Bowl last season. I believe it is more the assistants, offensive and defensive coordinator, letting the Eagles down than Sirianni. But what do I know?

Tampa Bay has been a great story this year. They were left for dead after Tom Brady retired. Baker Mayfield was looking like he was going to be out of the league if this stint didn’t work out. Now he has them in the playoffs, and he has more than likely found his home for now (RIP to my Kyle Trask rookie card collection). Baker loves throwing to Mike Evans and they will connect again tonight.

With the injuries on the Eagles side and the lack of momentum they are playing with, I don’t see a lot of points being scored on either side. I believe this game will be a tight, low scoring affair to close out Wildcard weekend.
