Jersey Numbers Revealed for the New Pitt Panthers

You know that spring ball is close because the Pitt newcomers have officially been assigned jersey numbers.

Now, all of these numbers won’t stick (more than a few will change before summer camp begins in August), but the newcomers are officially Pitt Panthers. Just be careful if you’re buying a jersey at this point in time.

Eli Holstein has been assigned No. 10, and Julian Dugger has been assigned No. 12. Those numbers are a pretty good bet to stick. The two new quarterbacks are set.

The incoming freshmen have all been assigned numbers, obviously, but it’s Sincere Edwards at 90 and Francis Brewu at 95 that stick out. Those numbers might just stick, but it’s a good bet that a number of the other early enrollees will change their numbers at least once over the next couple of seasons.

Desmond Reid (25) and Juelz Goff (26) are the two new running backs, and Poppi Williams (20), Censere Lee (22) and Cameron Monteiro (27) are the new wide receivers.

Moritz Schmoranzer (54), Lyndon Cooper (56) and David Ojiegbe (43), Zach Crothers (53), Sincere Edwards (90), Francis Brewu (95), Nick James (96) and Nate Matlack (98) round out the offensive and defensive linemen, respectively.

Jeremiah Marcelin (32) and Keye Thompson (36) headline the new linebackers, and Tamon Lynum (25) and Nigel Maynard (27) headline the new crop of defensive backs.

The new long snappers are Nilay Upadhyayula (47) and Nico Crawford (48).

Spring ball is scheduled to kick off on Monday, March 4, and there will be 14 practices leading up to the Blue-Gold Spring Game on April 13 at Acrisure Stadium. It will certainly be an important spring as Pitt implements an entirely new offense and begins its comeback from a 3-9 season in 2023.
