Report: Changes To the Robert Morris Men’s Basketball Staff

Published

Losing usually brings about changes and that’s what is taking place with the Robert Morris men’s basketball program.

There’s no way to sugarcoat things other than to say the Colonials men’s basketball program is struggling and have so since joining the Horizon League.

Andy Toole’s squad finished this past season with a record of 10-22 and haven’t had a season with a record above .500 since the 2019-20 season. During that time, they’ve averaged just 9.5 wins per season.

That’s really bad and numbers like that usually get people fired and that’s what happened today.

According to Adam Nelson from HoopDirt.com, Robert Morris has relieved men’s basketball assistant coaches Dave Fedor and Vince Johnson of their duties. Fedor has been with Robert Morris for the last six seasons, while Johnson was hired four seasons ago. Prior to joining RMU, Johnson was the head coach at Pope John XXIII High School (2016-19) and was the camp director with Hoop Group in 2019-20.

It appears as though Mike Iuzzolino, the other member of Toole’s coaching staff, will remain.

Earlier today, Robert Morris had their first transfer of the offseason as forward Stephaun Walker entered the transfer portal.
