Pat Narduzzi has filled out the hiring of his 2024 coaching staff.
It took less than a week, but Narduzzi has found the replacement for Tiquan Underwood. ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg is reporting that Pitt intends to hire JJ Laster as their new wide receiver’s coach.
Like with a couple other members of the new offensive staff, Laster has a history with new offensive coordinator Kade Bell. Laster had just taken the receivers job at Old Dominion last month after leaving Western Carolina, where we worked with Bell. Prior to his three seasons at Western Carolina, Laster was running backs and tight ends coach at Gardner-Webb.
Laster will be reunited with his former top receiver at Western Carolina, CJ Lee, who caught 46 passes for 792 yards and 8 touchdowns, while earning All-Southern Conference honors.
Prior to starting his coaching career, the native of Gainesville, Florida was a star running back at Jacksonville University. In 40 career games at Jacksonville (2008-2011), Laster rushed for 1,796 yards on 343 carries (5.2 yards per carry), 67 receptions for 606 yards and 21 touchdowns. Laster led FCS with 8.5 yards per rush in 2010.
Laster’s deep history in Florida will help to assist Pitt with their recruiting in the Sunshine State.
Any more western Carolina coaches and players that we can get have we got them all…
We got their players too, Duzzie gone soonie
Pitt like Nutting ain’t even trying to win just collect ACC WELFARE CHECKS and be fodder for the top programs in football and blue blods in basketball
You don’t make any sense.Especially with the basketball reference..I’m going to keep an open mind here.I like the fact that Duz is going young on his offensive staff. If bringing in another W.Carolina guy to make the transintion into the new offense easier.I’m all for it.Hopefully they all can recruit.
Odd statement since they just won the ACC 3 years ago.
