What’s Happening With Hudson?

Of all the 2016 WPIAL recruits, McKeesport star Khaleke Hudson has been the most difficult to get a read on. No one has been able to get a read on where he might be leaning.

Hudson is the WPIAL’s 2016 version of Jordan Whitehead, meaning he has the ability to play either on offense or defense in college. In fact, Hudson told me that colleges are recruiting him both as a safety and running back.

Since he’s not been heard from in awhile, I asked Hudson what schools he’s now considering?

“I’m down to Pitt, Penn State, Michigan State, Michigan, Virginia Tech and UCLA.”

Hudson recently picked up the offer from Michigan and added them to his finalists.

Considering their hasn’t been much movement and he’s already canceled an announcement press conference, I asked Hudson about the difficulty of pulling the trigger on his final decision.

“Yes, it’s been a lot of stress but I am enjoying this whole process”, said Hudson. “I’m just trying to figure out where I fit best, who will give me the best chance to succeed in life.”

So, what are his thoughts on Pitt and what intrigues Hudson most about them?

“I talk to Pitt a lot, especially with Coach Narduzzi. What interests me most about Pitt is being close to home and that my family can be at all my games”, said Hudson.

One other thing that’s caught Hudson’s eye concerning Pitt and that’s the usage of freshman Jordan Whitehead.

“Yes, they play freshman and I can be doing the same thing as Whitehead”, said Hudson.

Hudson told me that he doesn’t have a decision date or month in mind and that “only my mother will have an effect on where I go.”

Pitt fans and probably Pitt coaches can dream about a safety tandem of Hudson and Whitehead.   Time will tell if that becomes reality.
