Pat Narduzzi and his coaching staff didn’t play a game today but received a big win.
Grassfield (Va) DE Patrick Jones just announced that he’s picked Pitt over hometown Virginia Tech. It’s a major win for Pitt to be able to get a talent like Jones to pick them over Va Tech.
I’m told that the Pitt coaching staff was the #1 reason he selected Pitt, especially LB coach Rob Harley.
Jones is the second talented defensive end to pick them in the last week. On Friday, Charlotte (NC) 3-star prospect also picked Pitt over Virginia Tech.

With addition of Jones, the Panthers are loaded at defensive end.
Pitt Defensive Ends:
Zack Gilbert
Rori Blair
Shakir Soto
Allen Edwards
Ejuan Price (if granted a 6th year)
James Folston
Dewayne Hendrix
Patrick Jones
Like Gilbert, Jones will enroll at Pitt next month (January). In fact, Gilbert tells me that he and Jones will likely be roommates at Pitt.
