Monday Pitt football/basketball recruiting notes:
**3-star DE/OT Deron Irving-Bey (6-5, 271) from Flint, Michigan received an offer today from Pitt. The Panthers have now offered a handful of recruits from the state of Michigan, which is a state they’re trying to get their footprints in. Irving-Bey also has Power 5 offers from Michigan State, Illinois and Iowa State.

**Pitt basketball coach Kevin Stallings had a history of recruiting players from overseas while at Vanderbilt. Today, he offered a player that was born in France. 6-8 forward Alexis Yetna from Mt. Zion was offered a Pitt scholarship. Unlike some of the players that Stallings offered last week, Yetna isn’t a highly ranked recruit (2-star), his only major scholarship coming from New Mexico.
UPDATE (6:58 PM)-
**After taking a hiatus last year, a source tells me that plans are in the works to try and bring the Green Tree basketball summer league back this year. In fact, I’m told that Kevin Stallings is really pushing for this to happen. If it does happen, look for their to be a few less “non-playoff” games and more emphasis on the playoff games.
UPDATE (7:08 PM)-
**Pitt assistants Rob Harley and Tim Salem were both in Florida today recruiting and this evening a talented player from The Sunshine State got an offer from Pitt. 2018 DE Dennis Briggs (6-3, 238) got the scholarship offer tonight, his second D-1 offer (Mississippi State).

UPDATE (8:14 PM)-
**Tim Salem and Rob Harley are busy guys today offering out scholarships. Tonight a 3rd Florida player picks up an offer. 3-star St. Petersburg wide receiver Matt Landers heard from Pitt. Landers (6-3, 177) also has offers from Florida, Georgia, Miami Fla, North Carolina, Ole Miss and Louisville have also offered.
UPDATE (10:00 PM)-
**2018 TE Thomas Booker picked up an offer from Pitt. Booker (Baltimore, Maryland) has tremendous size for a tight end (6-4, 250). Booker also has offers from Maryland and Michigan so by 2018, he’s going to be a huge recruit.
