Pitt FB Recruiting

Tuesday Pitt Recruiting News

Obviously you know by now that Johnstown cornerback Exree Loe has de-committed from Pitt. Loe was an early pledge, in fact, he was Pat Narduzzi’s first 2017 verbal commitment.

In his tweet to announce this decision, Loe stated committing too early was part of his reasoning. However, that’s not the main reason Loe opened up his recruitment.

A reliable source told me that Loe wanted the freedom to look at and visit other schools/camps and Pitt wasn’t on board with that. Loe recently visited Rutgers.

In my opinion, it’s not crazy or unfair for Pitt to not want him to do this. Either Loe is committed to Narduzzi and Pitt or he isn’t. That’s the bottom line.

Honestly, I could’ve predicted 3-4 months ago that this was going to happen. Loe never struck me as a player that was 100% committed. This doesn’t make him a bad kid, actually he’s a normal 17 year old. Making a college decision is probably the first big decision most of these kids make and unfortunately, a lot of them make decisions before they’re totally ready. All the best to Loe in the future.

**Minus Loe, Pitt 2017 commitment number stands at 7.  For those fans worried that Pitt lost a talented defensive back, DON’T WORRY. Narduzzi and his staff can recruit, especially talent in the secondary. Come February, Pitt will have an above average recruiting class. Trust me.

UPDATE (11:30 AM)-

**Now onto Steel Valley 4-star athlete Paris Ford. Last night rumors were flying on Twitter and message boards that he too planned on de-committing from Pitt. Fortunately, that’s all they are; rumors.

Once again, a well connected source messaged me that Paris isn’t decommiting and that he’s good with Pitt.

Last week when I talked with Ford himself, he told me that he was “100% committed to Pitt.” He actually seemed surprised I was asking him about it.

Unfortunately for Pitt and Pitt fans, this is another example of a rumor getting life on Twitter and getting out of control. My guess is that a fan of another school started this rumor in an attempt to harm Pitt and their recruiting.

FYI, I’m hoping to talk with Ford later this afternoon.

UPDATE (12:54 PM)-

**Former Gateway and current IMG Academy lineman Robert Hainsey will announce his Top 3 schools tonight at 7:30 pm. Pitt made his list of Top 10 but can they stay in contention tonight?
