UPDATE (3:01 PM)-
**Speaking of scholarship offers, yesterday Pitt offered 2018 wide receiver Dominick Watt from Hollywood, Florida. I asked him about the offer from Pitt.

“I was surprised, I didn’t think I was going to get the offer when the coach came,” said Watt.  “The things that have impressed me about Pitt is that they run a wide formation offense and that it’s the best in the country this year and their stats are amazing.”

“It’s so amazing to get a major offer like this and probably have the chance to play in the ACC and I love to have competition.”

UPDATE (2:56 PM)-
**Pitt has extended an offer to another 2018 prospect. Safety/wide receiver Noah Boykin from Washington D.C., picked up an offer from Pitt. I believe this is Boykin’s first scholarship offer.

UPDATE (12:29 PM)-
**Some of the Pitt coaches are back in town after recruiting out of town but Coach Salem is still on the road.

UPDATE (11:23 AM)-
**As far as my nugget, here’s what I can tell you for now. A member of the staff is meeting with a player that’s committed to another school. I’m hesitant to say his name because I don’t want to get him in trouble with the school he’s currently committed to. Pitt is trying to get him to de-commit. If that player gives me permission to use his name then I will . The only clue I’ll give is that he’s a defensive player.

UPDATE (9:55 AM)-
**The name Lamont Wade hasn’t come up much this week but trust me, his name is always on the mind of the Pitt coaching staff. Tonight,  members of the staff will watch  Wade in person.

Various members of the Panther staff will be in Slippery Rock as Clairton takes on Farrell in the PIAA playoffs. I haven’t confirmed each member that will make the trip but I’d guess Coach Narduzzi, Coach Hill and Coach Conklin, maybe more.

Remember, decision day for Wade is in 15 days.

UPDATE (8:35 AM)-
**OL Coach John Peterson must have made a positive impression with Virginia OT Mehki Becton because he wants to explore Pitt more.

A source close to Becton tells me that “Becton really enjoyed his visit with Coach Peterson and his whole family likes Pitt. Mekhi visited them at the beginning of the recruiting process and plans to go back.”

This source tells me that Becton will make an official visit to Pitt in January.

UPDATE (8:22 AM)-
**Yesterday, I raised the question of whether the firing of Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson could have an impact on Columbus, Ohio DT Derrius Mullins. The answer is No. I spoke to Mullins this morning who told me “No, I’m fully behind Coach Allen being the head coach for Indiana football,” said Mullins.

UPDATE (12:04 AM)-
**Pretty busy day for the Pitt coaches on the recruiting trail. IMO, the biggest story of the day was Pitt continuing to pursue Maryland 3-star cornerback commit Kenny Bennett.

As we told you first, DC Josh Conklin was with Bennett in the afternoon and then again last night for an in-home visit. From what I’m hearing, it sounds like Bennett could make an official visit to Pitt next Saturday (December 9th).

**Another big development was John Peterson meeting with 4-star offensive tackle Mekhi Becton from Highland Springs, Virginia. Becton has a long list of big offers but we haven’t heard much about him and Pitt until yesterday. We’ll do our best today to try and reach Becton to get his reaction to his talk with Peterson.

**The Pitt staff offered a few skilled position players yesterday: 2018 WR Dominick Watt (Hollywood, Florida), 2018 WR Edward Hendrix (Washington DC) 2019 CB/WR Joshua Sanguinetti and 2019 RB Kenny McIntosh (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida). The two 2019 players are teammates.

An interesting note about Hendrix is that aside from Pitt, he also received an offer yesterday from Clemson.
