Steelers Draft James Conner in 3rd Round

The amazing story of Pitt running back James Conner added another chapter tonight.

The way things are going, a movie might be next up for him.

After his football career was in doubt because of a knee injury and then cancer, Conner’s name was called tonight in the 3rd round of the NFL Draft.

Not only was it called, it was done so by the hometown team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In case you missed Conner getting the call here it is courtesy WTAE- TV.

Honestly, that’s a lot earlier than anyone had him projected to go.

The Steelers using a 3rd round pick on Conner, this means that they have big plans for him and that he can be a contributor on offense.

This wasn’t a charity pick.

How’s a backfield of Conner and LeVeon Bell look?

This was the first time the Steelers selected a Pitt Panther since cornerback Hank Poteat in the 3rd round.

Steeler fans now have two instant fan favorites from this start: Conner and 1st round pick TJ Watt.

Whar a great day for football fans in Pittsburgh and more importantly a great day for Conner and his family.
