After finishing up their challenging non-conference schedule, Robert Morris opened up NEC conference play with a 68-54 win over Bryant.

The key for the Colonials was their effort on defense. In the 2nd half, Andy Toole’s team held Bryant to just 26.9 (7-for-26) shooting.

With 11:45 left in the game, Robert Morris trailed 44-39 but that’s when the Colonials went on a 18-3 run that sealed the victory.

Junior Matty McConnell led Robert Morris in scoring with 18 points while sophomore Dachon Burke chipped in 15 points and freshman Jon Williams contributed 13 points.

Two other big efforts came from freshman Leondre Washington with 10 points and graduate transfer Ronnie Gombe with a career-high 11 rebounds.

The win evened the Colonials record at 7-7. Next up is a challenging road contest at Central Connecticut State. Sunday’s tip-off is set for 3:30 PM.
