The Pitt volleyball team ran its unbeaten streak to 20 games by beating NC State, 3-1 on Sunday.

The No. 6 Panthers defeated the Wolfpack, 25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23, and improved to 8-0 in ACC play. No. 1 BYU is the only other unbeaten team in the country.

A pair of Panthers recorded double-doubles. Junior right side Nika Markovic led the way with 17 kills and 11 digs while senior setter Kamalani Akeo had 28 assists and 10 digs.

Junior middle Layne Van Buskirk had 13 kills. Stephanie Williams and Kayla Lund each had 11 kills. Redshirt senior libero Angela Seman had 17 digs.

The Wolfpack were one of two ACC losses for the Panthers in 2017. Pitt has won 17 straight matches against conference opponents.

The Panthers will return to Fitzgerald Field House for two matches, this Friday against Notre Dame at 7 p.m. and Sunday against Louisville at 1 p.m. The Cardinals were the other ACC team that defeated Pitt a year ago.
