CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It was a homecoming of sorts for Pitt men’s basketball coach Jeff Capel, who returned to his home state along with two of his Panthers for the 2018 ACC basketball media day.
Capel fielded question after question about his days playing and coaching at Duke, coaching at Old Dominion and VCU and what made Pitt the right opportunity for him to jump back into the head coaching ranks.
He also talked about the ongoing federal corruption trial, the way transfers have changed the landscape of college basketball, the NBA’s G-League contract offer to top recruits and more topics of local and national interest.
