Watch: Pitt Coaches Preach Consistency, Finishing Strong

PITTSBURGH — Sitting in first place on the second week of November, with the second-place team (Virginia Tech) set to come to your building is a pretty good position for a college football team to be in.

But Pitt’s coaches feel that the Panthers’ best ball still needs to be ahead of them if they hope to accomplish their ultimate goal of making the ACC Championship Game in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Pitt will have to both beat the Hokies this Saturday and win one of their two final contests or get some help in order to clinch the ACC Coastal, and while they have won three of their last four games, the Panthers’ 5-4 record suggests a team that hasn’t been particularly consistent.

Wide receivers coach Kevin Sherman and linebackers coach Rob Harley talked about those issues after Tuesday’s practice on the South Side:
