Duquesne-Penn State Postgame Reaction

PITTSBURGH — It’s not often you see a team awarded six free throws. But that’s exactly what happened tonight as Duquesne fell to Penn State at PPG Paints Arena, 73-67. What’s perhaps even stranger, the six free throws came with 5.2 seconds left in a tie game after a foul call on Mike Hughes turned into technical foul call on Keith Dambrot, which quickly turned into a second technical and an ejection. Penn State made all six free throws and the game ended in a tough Dukes loss.

After the game, Duquesne men’s basketball coach Keith Dambrot, Penn State coach Pat Chambers and Duquesne’s Mike Hughes and Eric Williams Jr. addressed the media.
