William Mohan is one of the top athletes on the East Coast and his offer list reflects that.
The four-star recruit from Brooklyn, New York holds major offers from schools such as Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
The good news for Pitt is that they’ve done enough to make a positive impression on him. Mohan made an unofficial visit in April and plans on making one of his officials to Pitt.
Pittsburgh Sports Now spoke to Mohan about what Pitt has done to impress him enough to have them as a serious contender for his services.
“They text me and are in communication with me all the time,” said Mohan. “When I went there, they showed my family and I a great time and were so respectful to us. They really have showed us that they’re interested in me. Pitt just seems to have a great coaching staff and are a great organization.”
“It means a lot to me that they’ve shown so much interest. It shows that they want me for me and not just because of my ranking,” he said.
April was the first time he’s been to Pittsburgh and that visit was the primer for Mohan wanting to learn more about the Panthers.
”I liked how the coaches were firm and real with us,” said Mohan. “They told me that if I come, work hard, I’d have a good chance to start. They seemed to be real about it. They really showed me how’d they play and use me. The tour that they gave me and my parents was great. I really just liked everything about the visit.”
Mohan describes himself as someone that can play safety or linebacker. He calls himself a big hitter, fast, has great coverage skills and a “dynamic playmaker.”
What other schools are in the running for his services?
Mohan says that he will make visits to Michigan, Ohio State and Pitt. Miami and Nebraska are two other real possibilities. No exact dates have been finalized but a return visit to Pitt the weekend of June 14-16 is a possibility.
