The recruiting news for Pat Narduzzi continues to improve as another Pitt commit’s star status gets elevated.

West Mifflin 2021 defensive end Nahki Johnson, who committed to Pitt back in June, is now a 4-star recruit according to Rivals.com and one of the Top 180 overall juniors.

Johnson (6’3″ 210) is gifted athlete who projects as an edge rusher and someone who will get to the quarterback in Narduzzi’s attack style defense. Prior to committing early to the Panthers, Johnson held offers from Penn State, Michigan, West Virginia, Virginia Tech and Mississippi State.

”I am very thankful that I am a 4-star recruit,” Johnson tells PSN. “To me that just means all my hard work is being noticed but I will always stay humble so I can continue getting more blessings. This will not change me at all and  I’ll keep grinding and working as if I was unranked.”

Pitt has two commitments for their Class of 2021 and both of them are highly rated. At the beginning of November, 4-star (247 Sports) running back Rodney Hammond (5-10, 185) from Norfolk, Virginia gave a verbal to Pitt over programs such as Penn State, Michigan, Virginia Tech, Virginia, South Carolina and North Carolina.

In the last month, future Pitt Panthers such as wide receiver Jaylon Barden, Dayon Hayes, Bangally Kamara and Henry Parrish have been elevated from 3 to 4-star recruits.

“It feels great. I’m just glad I’m at home and now when we work and grind for wins, I’m not only winning for myself but I’m winning for my city so I hope to take over as a leader at Pitt.”
